About
Jamie Parslow is an award-winning director, writer, and producer obsessed with the language of film and storytelling since he was a child. His body of work often includes ordinary people and locations in extraordinary worlds or in extraordinary situations, often leaning on themes of existentialism, poverty, technology, and science. Much of his work is inspired by his upbringing in Florida trailer parks, low-income neighborhoods, and trauma experienced in youth, resulting in work that calls out to disenfranchised audiences who are looking for creations that resonate at a deep, core level. Never one to shy away from darker elements such as death, nihilism, religion, and trauma, Jamie’s work doesn’t try to take its themes and elements too seriously, often putting a comedic spin on his stories as a means of cutting tension and connecting to audiences through laughter.
After watching Hitchcock's classic, "Psycho" with his grandparents at as a nine year-old, as soon as he was old enough, he jumped right into film and television, and never looked back.
Working in the industry since 2005, and having worked on countless feature films, television shows, commercials, web-series, and creative content - Jamie is constantly looking for the next adventure in storytelling. An ardent advocate for continuing education, Jamie’s philosophy is that of never settling and stretching the creative muscle as often as humanly possible.
Living in Los Angeles since 2013, he spends his free time writing/conceptualizing, hiking, playing video games (mostly Legend of Zelda, but there are others), and coming up with lame jokes for Facebook and Twitter. On Sundays, he karaokes.
Always open to chat and collaborate, if you're looking for a Director, Writer, Producer, or General Conceptualist, feel free to reach out.
